Iceland is a primal landscape of sea, sky and rock, where the warmth of the sun is tempered by harsh wind, rain and snow, causing indigenous species of flowers, plants and moss to huddle close to the ground. The moss in the image carpets a former massive lava flow in the Kirkjubæjarklaustur area of the island.
